Why is there a large red cross by names on my Family Pedigree Chart in the 1200's.

Can you give an example? I sounds like someone has just put a country's flag as the person's portrait. There are no photographs that far back, of course, and it seems that some users like to put something, anything, to replace the default icon.

Exactly my thought - probably a flag. I just saw that someone has added a photo to a profile I researched. The photo is not of the person in question. The contributor wrote in red across the photo "not a real photo." Don't understand the point myself.
