Merge a virtual person record with a real person's account
Hi there!
I'm trying to merge my father's record on my own tree with his ID, but it's not working.
I assume some permission problem, however both of our profiles have the following options enabled:
*Include my profile information in directory search results
*Enable relationship viewing
What's wrong here? Is it possible, that the system needs some time to sync these settings?
We are even in the same family group.

Balázs, az FS családfája egy nagy közös, nyitottan-szerkeszthető fa. A (távoli) cél az, hogy minden elhunyt személyről egy -- és csak egy -- profil legyen rajta. De ez a cél csak az elhunyt személyekre vonatkozik: az élő személyek adatvédelme érdekében a róluk szóló profilt csak az a felhasználó látja, aki felvitte. Az élő személyről szóló profil egy célt szolgál csak: összekötő a felhasználó és az elhunyt családja között. Ezért például nagynénémről nem is csináltam profilt, mert senkivel sem kapcsolódik, akivel elhunyt bátyja nincs már összekötve.
A "közös fa" felállítás első eredménye, hogy itt nincs senkinek "saját" fája (az élő személyekről szóló részt leszámítva). A "nyitottan szerkeszthető" felállításnak eredményeként felvihetek bárkit, még akkor is, ha más felhasználó ezt már megtette (az FS előző rendszereiben is), de előbb-utóbb a rendzer "valószinű kettőzést" jelezne -- és ha nem is jelzi, akkor is jobb egyesíteni a profilokat, mert csak így tudunk rajtuk közreműködni.

Az "enable relationship viewing" beállítás arra vonatkozik, hogy amikor valaki valamit szerkeszt a közös fán, akkor a felhasználó nevére kattintva meg lehet kérdezni a rendszertől, hogy rokon-e. Ha a beállítás mindkét végen "igen", akkor a felugró ablakban megmondja, hogy rokon-e, és ha igen, akkor milyen.
A másik beállításról ("directory search") még sosem derítettem ki, hogy mire vonatkozik, mert nem tudom, miféle címtárról vagy névsorról van szó. (Az FS-en könnyen előfordul, hogy valamilyen tervezett de soha meg nem valósított szolgáltatás maradéka. De lehet, hogy összefügg az évenkénti RootsTech konferenciával.)

The profile of a living person can only be seen by the person who created it. You cannot merge your version of your father's profile with the version he created as the start person in his research. This is for reasons of personal privacy.

Than how could we join our forces and work together on the same tree?

You can work together starting from the nearest deceased relatives - your grandparents or great-grandparents.

There's only one big tree, so when you each connect to his parents you'll be working on the same database.

The records for his parent (my grandparents) were created by us (on each of our own trees).
The same applies for my grandparents (his great-grandparent) and my great-grandparent.
The only person who we found with records was my great-grandparent's dad, I don't know if there is a word for him, but we call it "ükszülő" in Hungary.
So we should start building the tree with the latest publicly found person, right?

If your grandparents are living, then you can't merge them, either. If they are deceased, then you should merge them. The FamilySearch Family Tree (FSFT) is meant to be a single collaborative tree with one profile for every person who has ever lived.
Profiles for the living are only used to connect from you, the contributor, to your nearest deceased relative.

I've found the related wiki page in the meanwhile. So we managed to build up the tree from the top to bottom, where we added all the deceased family members.
