How to correct record - parent and child have same birth year (different names)?
In Family Search, Michael is shown as born in 1774, and father Hans was also born in 1774. His father was Nicholas Wagner, born in 1663. = not possible.
In Ancestry, Michael is shown as born in 1774, and father Hans Jacob was born in 1725. His father Hannss J Wagner was born in 1693, and his father was Nicolaus (Nicholas) Wagner born in 1663.

Could you please share the PID (the identifying code of the person's profile) so we can see the details and better advise?

Before you change anything you need to work out what the problem is.
Are these really father and son and there was a simple typo when entering one of the dates?
Or are they both real people, both born in 1774, and someone recognised the names and incorrectly connected them as father and son?
Or ... Which is why Aine has asked for the PID of one of them. It may be possible to work out from the change log what has happened.

Michael J. Wagner = KCKK-TLN (1774-1826)
Hans Wagner = GK8R-17Y (1774-1826)
Nicholas Wagner = GK8T-F2F (1663-1744)
Hans Jacob Wagner = LHN7-M56 (1725-1802)

The addition of Hans Wagner GK8R-17Y as the father of Michael Wagner KCKK-TLN is very recent. That addition was made in April of this year.
It was likely an innocent error on the part of the contributor whose name appears in the change log. From that username, you can contact the contributor and collaborate on the family. A baptismal record for Michel was also added, and the father shown on that baptismal record is not Hans but Jacob.
You can view all the changes, who made them, and when they were made in the Changelog - https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/changelog/KCKK-TLN

Thank you. I do not see on a person page how to access the Changelog - just the list of changes/notes. Where would I click, please?

I gave you a link to the changelog in my previous comment. When you are on the profile page, look down the right side for "Latest Changes" and click on "Show All."

Yes, thank you. I did use the link you sent but wanted to know how to access the Change Log in the future besides always returning to the link in your msg. I will try the Show All.
