In the Descendancy Chart of John Jacob Smith LZ1C-Y17, it shows duplicates of Guy Franklin Alexander GSYC-KMD. When I go to Guy's person page, I can't seem to resolve the issue.

Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your help.

If you look at Guy Franklin Alexander GSYC-KMD, he shows as a child to his father twice, once with his mother, and again with an unknown mother.

This explains why you see Guy twice:

Sometimes a child appears with his or her parents and then shows again with one of the parents and an unknown spouse.

    In this case:

    • The child has one relationship that links him or her to the correct father and mother.
    • And the child has a second relationship that connects him or her to one of the same parents with an unknown spouse.

You can delete that second relationship without affecting the first one by removing the child from the relationship that shows the child with only one parent. The single-parent relationship box will then disappear, leaving the correct 2-parent family relationship intact.

(John Jacob Smith's ID is correctly LHKT-2B7. LZ1C-Y17 is Guy's mother Glencora.)

Presumably, you're talking about how Guy appears in the descendancy twice, once with Glencora as his mother, and once with "[Unknown Name]" as his mother.

Note that there's no duplicate here: it's the same profile with the same ID appearing twice. The reason it's doing so is that Guy has somehow acquired an extra relationship to just his father. To fix it, go to either Guy's or George's profile Details page, scroll down to Family Members, and find where Guy appears under just George, then click the pencil (edit) button after Guy's name.

On the resulting popup, I believe you can use either one of the trashcan (Remove or Replace) buttons, but I usually go with the child's. Follow the prompts, choosing "remove". (Don't worry, you're not removing any people, you're just getting rid of the redundant relationship.)
