What Happened to the Ability to Look only at (for instance) Marriage Records in Search Results?

I have a limited amount of time when I sit down to work on my genealogy. I have never found Family Search particularly helpful; it is basically my last resort for research, because it has always been terribly clunky. I hear people wax on about how much information you have, but it is not easy to obtain in a short amount of time. I recently came looking for a marriage record. I admit, it has been a while since I've been here, for the above-stated reasons, and there was a "new look". I plugged in all the information and got way too many pages in the results. I went to look for the "marriage records" so I would only have to sort through those results and the ability to do that was just gone. I may have missed something in the "new look", but I searched the screen pretty thoroughly. It seems like the more you try to improve things, the worse they get. Maybe more work on fixing bugs than beautifying? It will be even longer before I return again, since it seems to be a waste of my time.

The option is still there. Scroll down to the bottom of the search inputs panel and choose "Type" under "Add Record Options".

Just another example of the changes producing search requirements that are not intuitive.

@WilbergClarkN That option did NOT change.

When you Search - from the Search results there is also a Marriage filter which allows you to filter by Place and Date:

@katherine genung Many options exist to narrow your search. If you know the place, you can narrow your search to the state/country or even to a specific marriage database within the location.

There are SO many records now available on FamilySearch that narrowing your search to a place/time/type of record can be very useful. If you want to share some details, someone can probably make more specific suggestions.
