In the Florida Funeral Home Records, John & Elizabeth Tinny are both shown to be buried at Oaklawn, Albemarle, Virginia, United States, when in reality they are buried at Oaklawn, Tampa, Hillsborough, Florida. I'm sure this is a transcription error, however, the edit button is locked and shown as "edit unavailable". How can this be corrected?

That is not an indexing error but the fault of the placename standardization algorithm. The clue is the field "Event Place (Original)".

That means that almost any placename in a record set has been edited by a computer algorithm that does not take the actual location into account, just matching on that one word (in this case, Oaklawn) to the first Oaklawn in its matching list.

Unfortunately, this problem is widespread, and fixing will require years of repair. Tagging the mod who will escalate. @N Tychonievich, please and thank you.

@Robin W Brown Thank you for letting us know of the error in place for the Florida Funeral Home Records. And thank you for providing the URLs--makes our task soooo much easier. We will report the errors to the team that is working to correct auto-standardization errors. As @Áine Ní Donnghaile mentioned, it can take a long time for corrections to be in place. I do see corrections made every day, but there are a lot of them for the group to work through.
