Brand new beginner
So I have a batch that can be indexed. I put 'yes' in the box. Now what do I do to start indexing?

It will give you an idea of what to do in a live batch.

Then I guess my batch isn't live. When I click on 'next', it takes me to the 2nd image in the batch instead of the screen where I can enter data. I've transcribed for Ancestry for years so I'm quite familiar with how it should look. I signed in, but what do I have to do to make the batch live ???

That's because you also need to put yes (or otherwise) for the second image. Then it will automatically take you to the indexing form for the first image. Or... go up to the box that says Step 1 and Step 2. Step 2 is entries and if you're in the first image you'll get the entries form. It's best to go through the Overview Tour. That will help and will show how to see the specific instructions for that project.

It's also a good idea to read the Project Instructions and look at the examples. Always give the project name and batch code [XXXX-XXX] with your questions/comments. Then save the batch in your queue while you wait for a response from this Forum. Happy Indexing!
