    I would like to find how two people are related in my family, but not to me. For instance I would like to find the relationship between a 2nd generation member and one in the 6th generation. I can only find how they are related to me, but not to someone else.

    There's a 3rd party site that does that: Relative Finder.

    As long as the two people are deceased you can attempt finding a relationship between the two - on this specific page at BYU FHTL: Relative Finder

    I think the relationship between the two people needs to be within ~15 generations of each other or there will not be a relationship returned.
