When I attempt to access the record attached to this link (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:NFKL-X5W), I get the following message:

We're unable to show this record to you.

This record can only be displayed on certain accounts. FamilySearch must honor the agreements we have with our partners, record owners, and internal policies.

This doesn't explain how I might be able to gain access. I'm trying to look at the data simply to confirm it's correctly inputed. It's the only record that indicates the individual's parentage.

Sometimes you can find more information by accessing from a different direction. If you want to share who/where/when you were researching, someone may be able to help.

Thank you. I'm trying to research Catharine Hüther, M1NL-KBC. I'm trying to figure out her parents. According to what I can see, she was born or baptized 6 March 1849. I know she was married in Nünschweiler, and that her husband was Martin Centner from Kandel. She died in Kentucky. I'm trying to figure out her lineage, but that's the only record that has parentage, I think. When doing general researches on the last name and town, I generally see Lutheran records, and I'm almost certain she was a Catholic.

I'm seeing an error message, too, as well as a note on Catharine's profile that the record cannot be accessed and to try again later.

I'm tagging one of the moderators to see if she may be able to obtain more information. @Maile L please.

About half of the German church books are LDS only on FS because they're behind Archion's paywall.

I am also getting the error page. I am going to a FSC this week. Let me see if it is any different there.

Thanks, @Maile L My FSC is only open 1 hour/week, and that day was already past when I was trying to help in this thread.

I believe one of the reasons the images are unavailable - this is a Legacy database. The index is searchable from the wiki page but I didn't see results showing place. The index does show that images are not available (from the few I browsed).

    From https://www.familysearch.org/en/wiki/Germany_Church_Records#Baptisms_.28Taufen.29

I believe the place to search is (? sorry not familiar with German parishes/diocese):

    https://www.archion.de/de/archive-in-archion/rheinland-pfalz/bistumsarchiv-speyer/

which appears to have some online search capability (?):

Thanks! The Archion website isn't very well set up, and I haven't quite figured out how to get results from it, even if they are there. The LDS system is quite effective, and once you find clues to time and location, things begin to fall into place. I tried the Ancestry (Library) site. I get the parent's names and date of baptism. That's something, but there's nothing like seeing the record. In several cases you find more names, giving you clues to other family members, prior spouses, and close friends. In the case of this record, I suspect the mother's name was somewhat different.

I really appreciate your help on all this. I've learned quite a bit doing genealogy, and I'd like to learn more about people I'm related to, and just the past.

I asked Archion, and they indicated they were not the problem on the FamilySearch site.

The index on Ancestry references the FS film number but does not have an image.

    NameCatharina Huther

    GenderFemale

    Baptism PlaceKatholisch,Nuenschweiler,Pfalz,Bavaria

You might try - if you have not - the Remote Lookup Service. I don't know if they would be permitted to share, but it costs nothing to try. FamilySearch Library Record Lookup Service Form
