Every record is indexed except the one I want to attach to my tree. Can it be added to the index?

There are two images in this microfilm page. The upper record is indexed but the lower one is not. Can I request this to be added to the index?

No, FS doesn't go back and amend published indexes, so until/unless they apply the new "edit everything" feature that's slowly being rolled out, you'll need to attach the image as your source, bypassing the flawed index.

To clarify, you don't appear to be able to attach the image directly ("Attach to Family Tree" greyed-out on page), so this must be done via your source box.

Yes, unfortunately if there are any index entries associated with an image (no matter how wrong or incomplete), then that handy button is disabled. I haven't a clue about why this is so -- I mean, I get it that it's easier for the computer to treat the index as primary and the image as secondary, even though that's exactly backwards from how it should be, but why does the computer force its convenience onto us human users?

But anyway, there are actually basically two ways to attach an image as a source, despite the button's disablement: you can use the Source Box button on the image, or you can use the URL to create a source. The latter will have a globe icon on Sources tabs, as if it were an "off-site" reference, while the former will be indistinguishable from FS's indexed sources (if you use the same style of title).
