Really long lineage
After I put in some of my relatives into my family tree on Family search, there was a large auto populated line of people on my branch dating to the year 1200 and from another line the 800's. How is this being done, and how much credibility does it have?

There is as much credibility as the sources attached by the individuals who made the connections. The FamilySearch Family Tree is collaborative and fully open-edit. Anyone with free log-in credentials can add, edit, connect, detach. On some branches, you have many excellent researchers. On others, not so much.

I have had the same thing happen to me! I used to see how far I could go back as a kid and made it all the way back to Adam and Eve! I even scrolled past King Arthur's dad! I highly doubt the authenticity of this, and feel like it was the work of someone with a big imagination and a lot of time on their hands.

Thank you for your response. So further back (1700's) there are resources for my family members, but for the above, since there are no resources from someone in the year 2oo, it was just put in randomly by open edit? It goes WAY back with a lot of people. That's a lot of potential made up open editing.

You can contact the person who added those profiles and collaborate with them if you want. Or you can just ignore that part of the tree that is not relevant.

Have you considered the impossibility of there being any connection between those illustrated? The dates alone thoroughly discredit the integrity of this pedigree. Also, as soon as I see something like the wife of King of Britain Seisyll ap Gwrwst being "Mrs. Seisyll Britain" I realise this is all probably another of the poor, practical jokes I occasionally encounter on Family Tree.
