Hi everyone, just to say that I have received an email to say the management is going to take this up and do the necessary to stop this problem.

This is an index/contents page with persons names who's information is on the " Folio (page number)' mentioned. The actual legitimate record is usually written on the page number mentioned.

For the not so familiar with these index/contents pages:

Please return the batch: on the left top side is a button named 'Batch'. Click on it and options comes up. Click on the return batch option. It will return the batch.

We have problems with these pages, and it is going to be investigated by Management. The reason is because it is not an actual source for the family to use to add to their family tree.

Is this not an index? It has a book #. Recently there was a bunch of records that were very much like this and it was treated as index. Wish instructions included help with these.

Yes, this is an index and as such should be marked NNED and submitted. General Indexing Guidelines (GIG) explain this but Project Instructions (PI) don't always state that Indexes are not to be indexed.

my understanding was that any indexes that have NAMES AND DATES ARE exceptions and are to be indexed, as opposed to just names and a reference number

Which is exactly why PI need to give an example of how to index Indexes with NAMES AND DATES. And my question would be What is there in this batch on this page that tells the indexer what kind of record this is? Anyone?
