Hint Link missing from New Home Page
On the new home page I am missing the all important Hints (or Tasks) tab.
I only have HOME, FRIENDS, RECENTS. In the Help section of Family Search is an article that shows there should be a TASKS tab. When I called Customer Support and spoke with an Elder, he opened a public Home Page and it is actually called HINTS (Not TASKS). Either way, I do not have that tab, nor could he or a supervisor see the tab when they looked at my account. My cookies have been cleared, as well as Cached web images. I am using Firefox, so I opened another browser-Microsoft Edge- and still no TASKS or HINTS tab.
Elder and his supervisor concluded it is an Engineering problem and requested I send this message.
The TASKS tab is very important for me to attach sources to ancestors to not only help myself, but to help others.

Do you have the Record Hints box shown in this snip from my Home page? It's not across the top with the other elements you mentioned.
Using Firefox, on Win 10, both fully updated.

Hello!
First, the only thing I see in your snip is a blue box with an hour glass.
Second, I had a Record Hints box that appeared three days ago. I spent a day investigating and attaching sources from the 10 pages of Hints. After every one was completed it remained in the Hints box. When I had attached everything, they still ALL showed, even though every one had a checkmark and Source Attached.
The Record Hints box stayed exactly like that for two days, and was finally gone from my Home Page today. Do I understand that a Record Hint box will only show IF there are Records/Sources that need to be investigated and attached? Otherwise, it won't show up?
The Elder I spoke with at Customer Support said that when he opened a public profile page he showed a tab for HINTS. And, the article in the Help section shows a TASKS tab.

First - refresh the page. It sometimes takes a moment for the image to display.
I have the same view on Edge and Chrome, both fully up-to-date.

OK. I see it now. I have attached a screenshot of my Home Page. The Records Hint box you refer to didn't look like that. It was a blueish box that said something like, we have found some records for your ancestors. When I clicked on the box, it pulled up another box that was actually 10 pages of three 'ancestor' icons per page that showed one of the sources to attached (as some had over half dozen sources).

As you can see...also missing the HINTS tab (between FRIENDS and RECENTS) that shows on your page.

I've never even come close to "emptying" my Record Hints list, so I have no idea whether doing so would remove the Hints tab from the homepage, but it seems as good a theory as any.

Well, over MANY hours and several days, it's do-able, but a gargantuan task that I don't want to repeat anytime soon. ;-)
Still wonder, though, why I don't have the HINTS tab, along with a box.

Have you checked out the Landscape view for branches in your ancestry you have been working on recently? Assuming your "Options" has "Record Hints" checked, I would expect no blue icons if no Record Hints are appearing on your Home page. If they are still showing for some of your ancestors, there would appear to be something amiss:

I have a 'clean' tree in that all the ancestors I show in my tree in whatever format do not have the blue box, or hints/sources to be attached. The 50+ people I was bombarded with a couple days ago were ancestors of ancestors, way out on the limbs...i.e. sisters and brothers and children of children that I do not keep on my tree. But, in order to help other I investigated all these people that I don't actually keep on my tree, and attached sources where I could.
Without the HINTS tabs, however, I am also unable to IGNORE a HINT like I could when using the old Home Page.
Thus, yes, there is something amiss in the fact I do NOT have a HINTS tab which should be on my Home Page whether there are actually any HINTS or not.

Also, can the person confirm that if there are no hints, that the HINTS tab also goes away? As well as the hints box.

I was able to reproduce the scenerio. Indead the HINTS tab and section don't display if there are no hints to show.

Thank you so much, Lyle and everyone. Now I know for the next time I 'complete my chores' not to be surprised if the HINTS tab goes missing. ;-)

Getting all hints taken care of is quite an achievement. Now we know that that Hint tab only appears if there are hints, it does make sense to not be presented with a tab that at the moment has no function.
And if there are no hints, there is no need to ignore them.

Just so you know...it's just a moment of achievement. It may last a week or two, that you bask in the joy, until more sources are found. ;-)
As I only have been using the new Home Page for a couple of days, I didn't have any knowledge of how HINTS worked with the new page and didn't even notice there wasn't a HINTS tab until the tab and the "We found your relative in historical records! View my Relative" box disappeared.
