Provide complete cleanup when unlinking a child that had caused an erroneous non-couple relationship

A child is erroneously attached to a father and to a mother. These "parents" are not given a couple relationship. On more than one occasion I have needed to resolve such problems by unlinking the child from these incorrect "parents". When I do so, not only is the child no longer displayed on the person page of each parent, but the other "parent" is also correctly eliminated from the person page. Unfortunately, the message "These people do not have a couple relationship but are the parents of a child..." found on the "ORDINANCES" page for each of the wrong parents remains. For example please see PID KWZZ-C2J . I believe this error message should have also been deleted at the same time that the child was unlinked.

That message definitely should have disappeared and normally would have. Either a bug has crept in that needs to be fixed or the servers are really busy and the ordinance page is having trouble updating. There is still a chance the message will be gone by tomorrow if this is just slow processing.

I can find no way to alter relationships , such as step parent instead of parent , or half sibling . I have 10 half siblings , my mom had 1 out of wed lock , then married my dad had me divorced married 2nd man had 8 more ,my dad remarried had 1 son in that marriage ,I would like for all relations to be accurate in their amount.

This would have been better as a new topic since it has nothing to do with the topic started here.

However, since you asked, my personal opinion is to just put each child under that child's respective parents and let the chart speak for itself, except for adopted children who I would put under their adoptive parents also.

The other option is to put all step children under their biological parent and step-parent as well as both biological parents.

In Family Tree relationships are defined as a child's relationship to parents. So two people cannot really be marked as half-silbings, that would just be inferred by having a parent with more than one marriage and children by two different spouses.

You set relationships by first adding a child then clicking the pencil icon next to the child's name in the Family Members section which opens the parent-child relationship pop up:

This opens another pop up where you add or edit the relationship type:

This allows you to create complex family structures:
