I think I found an error in the index of the 1881 Canada Census.

I found several pages where the indexed names do not correspond with the page of the census being displayed (screen shot below, and here is the URL to the page: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3Q9M-CSMZ-YSNN-9?i=667&cc=1804541). The first two families enumerated on this page are the McBrides and Boyles, but the first families indexed are Robinson and Batten.

I located the image with the Robinson and the Batten families by browsing the census three pages later (URL: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3Q9M-CSMZ-YSNJ-J?i=670&cc=1804541). After John Miller, you can see James Robinson followed by the Battens. But again, when you look at the indexed names it begins with the Wright family and the McLennan family.

From these two example it appears to me that the index and images are misaligned by a few pages.
