"Hope this isn't a dumb question, but is it possible to post photos of people on FamilySearch (deceased) that I have in my possession and identified that are NOT related to me- so that THEIR living relatives can have the photo if the want it?

Would these photos come up in search results?

I have lots of old pics that my grandparents had that I think their relatives would like to have. I know if there were photos of my relatives I would like to see them..."

@Jdumas54 While sharing photos is often a great idea, the first question that comes to my mind - do you have the right to post those photos? Did your grandparents specifically will them to you? Are they photos your grandparents took or are they professional photos from a studio?

Be sure to read the Content Submission Agreement https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/legal/familysearch-trees-submission-agreement?lang=eng&country=go

I often see my own photos submitted to the FSFT by people who do not have the right to do so.

You can post a memories item to any of the more than a profile billion records in Family Tree - No they do not have to be family.

however as previously stated - copyright issues might apply (for items created after about 1930)

but for the most part - assuming family does not have a problem with it - and they were just family photos - yes you can post.

Anything prior to about 1930 or so is beyond copyright and in the public domain.

I have loaded thousands of "relative photos" that I am not a direct descendant of - and have always had nothing but gratitude from those that found their ancestor photos on line.
