US, Michigan—Naturalizations, 1880–1995 [Part A] [MQQ5-2QJ] indexing feedback
someone trying to find their ancestors name change entering this country won't see it because we are not to add the names unless the word (change) is on the card. The cards only list the one individual and sometimes only an asterisk is use by a slavik name. this batches first card is a good example. Someone living in a slavik country trying to find what their ancesters name(jozef Franciszek Drobczynski) was changed to (joe Drobs) would have a very hard time because the original name is so different. Some cards have totally different spellings and changes. So my request is this: If it is true that each card is only one individual, may we please add the given and/or surname differences using or. Then people will be able to find their ancestors no matter which side of the world they are on. Thank you.

I haven't checked the specific indexing project's instructions, but the indexing interface always allows "or": you can index the name as "Jozef Franciszek or Joe" and "Drobczynski or Drobs". (Although it'll be easier as "Jozef Franciszek Or Joe", because the dratted thing always Knows Better Than You about capitalization.)
