I have always been able to sign in automatically to FamilySearch, but since changing my password I now have to remove the old one and enter the new one. How can I change to automatic sign in again?

    Hi @ Sue Whitehead

Thank you for posting your query regarding having to change your old password to the new one when signing in.

You can save your new password by going into your Settings when you have signed in .

Here is an extract from Knowledge Article from FamilySearch Help Centre

    Steps (website)

    1. Sign in at FamilySearch.
    2. In the upper right corner, click your name.
    3. Click Settings.
    4. Click Account.
    5. To change your password, click Change My Password. Enter your current password, then enter your new password, and then click Save.
    6. To change your username, click Edit next to Password and Recovery. Enter your new username and click Save.

If you have a Church Account, to sign in to FamilySearch, you can click the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints icon, to the top right of your signing in. You do not need a separate FamilySearch account.

    Kind Regards

You may have saved your old password in your browser. IOW, it's your browser, not FamilySearch that may need to be edited.
