Record availability for viewing
I have run across a problem. In trying to use the catalog, I was looking for Cumberland Co, VA marriage abstracts. All the films are available except males A-E.
I know sometimes there are contractual or copyright reasons for availability, but I can't see any reason why this index of males would be any different than the ones available.

The abstracts of marriage bonds are items 4-10 on a film that also contains indexes to deeds as recent as 1975. When any part of a digitized film is restricted, the entire film is restricted.

Okay, thanks for the answer.
It raises a couple of questions, though... I assume those restricted deed indexes are available at at a FS library for anyone to view?
Secondly, as these are digitally captured images, it seems simple to break out the marriage abstracts from the deed indexes. It's not like taking scissors to a microfilm.

Those digitized films are available to view at Affiliate Libraries in addition to FamilySearch Centers.

If you click on the camera/key symbol you should see a message saying these images can be viewed at either a FamilySearch Center or Affiliate Library.
FamilySearch does not yet have the ability to separate different Items on the same film. The strictest restriction that applies to any individual Item or indeed just one page or record must apply to the entire film.
