how to index the word "late" in UK, England, Cumberland—Parish Registers, 1590–1960

I was asked about indexing the word "late" in the snip below:
So I found https://www.archives.norfolk.gov.uk/help-with-your-research/family-history/parishes-and-churches/parish-registers/reading-and-interpreting-registers - under common terms used in parish registers, it says: Late [surname] spinster - Clergymen sometimes included the mother’s maiden name in register entries, such as Jane Jones, late Smith, spinster. In this example, index parents' surnames as Jno Abbott and Mary Dobson. A big thank you to Shelly Johnson for starting this discussion!😊

You would index the mother's surname as Dobson Abbot per the field help:
Maiden names should be typed in this field before the current or former surnames. A maiden name was often indicated by the words "née," "late," or "born as." A maiden name may also have been written in parentheses.
