I noticed this entire batch of census records, which should be from Shefield Township, Ashtabula, Ohio (as shown in top left corner), was indexed as from Sheffield Island, Fairfield, Connecticut. Is there any way for the entire batch to be corrected? If you click to attach or view any of the individual records on any of the pages, you will see the error.

Thank you.

    @GFre,

    I do see the error, as you describe it: records that are indexed from the 1840 United States Census, for Sheffield Township, Ashtabula, Ohio. The Event Place has been changed from the originally indexed, "Sheffield" to "Sheffield Island, Fairfield, Connecticut" due to a computer-generated place standardization process. Unfortunately, this auto-standardization often results in a error in the resulting Event Place.

    Although this auto-standardization error is a known process, we have been asked to report each instance of the error. I will forward your report of this error to the appropriate team for review and resolution. Unfortunately, because of a significant backlog of similar problems, it would be impossible to suggest when the problem will be fixed.

    In attaching these records, as a source, to an individual record in Family Tree; you can add sufficient information in the Notes section of the Source to identify the error and provide correct information.

    Alternatively, you can use the Source Box to create a "clean" source. If you are unfamiliar with using the Source Box, the following Help Center articles will help.

    @GFre I have been able to edit the Event Place on https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:XHY8-Q1G. Please see the article https://www.familysearch.org/en/help/helpcenter/article/how-do-i-add-or-remove-information-fields-on-a-record-indexed-by-a-computer if you need direction for editing a historical record.
