I am working on US, Pennsylvania, Western District—Naturalizations, 1820–1930 [Part B][MQ3S-SRR]

On the left is an Oath of Allegiance for one person. On the right is a document about a wife and children. I looked ahead and determined she is the wife of a different person. Should I make a 2nd entry for her?

No. Even if she were the spouse, we do not make seperate entries for spouses and children of applicants.

Once the record is indexed and published on the net, the researcher will be able to look at the original document and use it to link families together

It is a good question. Unfortunately, that question has never been answered though. She is the wife of the person on the Facts for Petition on the next image and no one has answered whether those are even being indexed or not.

If they are, then you would create a record for the back of the document with only the spouse's name and birthdate.

    • If a record does not include a name for the primary person, you should still index the record, marking the primary name fields blank and indexing other names, such as the name of the spouse, along with any other fields that are present on the record.

I think it pretty odd that they have included this instruction and then not answered the previously asked question as to whether or not the Facts document gets indexed. Are they considering it a deposition? This has been asked at least twice on here, and now for a third time. (I have been returning these batches to let another reviewer decide).
