Find my Uncle in 1950 Census at ancestry.com - can't find him in FamilySearch

Hitting on most of the Martin names in Pima, Arizona in FamilySearch brings up this screen. Can't find my Russell cousin in Cochise County, Arizona either, but ancestry.com has him. Brings up the same following screen at FamilySearch.

You could try https://1950census.archives.gov:
Martin results:
Russell results:
FamilySearch I don't think has the index completely complete - don't know - if indexed it should appear...

You have 2 ways to do this yourself. First, add the Ancestry version to your source. I add quite a few sources from Ancestry when I can't find them in FS. I do the same in reverse in Ancestry with my tree. Quite a few web links there to FS. Anyway, method 1). Go to the image of the page in Ancestry and then click the "share" link. Copy the shared url. Come to FS and create a new source. 2). Second way doesn't exist yet. The 1950 Census is not yet available for Arizona. How do I know? I went to the Card Catalog for Arizona to find the census records and they only list up to 1940. If they put the images there before they are indexed, you can go to the page number (which you know from Ancestry), get the FS url of the image and then create a web source in FS.
I highly recommend you do 1) now. That way the information will be visible to anyone regardless of whether they have an Ancestry account.

Ok, one last comment. The 1950 images for Arizona are accessible images. They are also attached to the counties. They are clearly not indexed. Here is a search method I use quite a bit to find images: Go to Search images. Click more options. In the location, type enough information to select Pima, Arizona, United States. In record type put Census Records. In date put 1950. Click search. A number of links will come up. Every enumeration district appears as a separate link, which will be annoying. Use your Ancestry image to see which enumeration district should be selected, then go to the page number. Then you can link the image. Do the same process again for Cochise county.
I used to live very close to the Immaculate Heart Academy. I see it is its own enumeration district. Interesting.

Search> Images also does not reveal any 1950 Census unindexed sources for Pima County:
But here are FamilySearch 6,039 'Martin' results for Arizona 1950 US Census:
And here are the 399 listed in Pima:
You can perform such FamilySearch searches of the 1950 US Census from the collection page:
That the collection can be searched and results appear does not mean that the image can be linked to FamilySearch profiles - I just don't think FamilySearch is done creating the linkage to the images though the index does appear to be complete?? I don't know ... I guess be patient - the collection still has work to be completed.

Yes, I know how to link the record to FamilySearch from ancestry.com. I guess I was hoping for someone to tell me that FamilySearch was still working on the Pima County, Arizona records. I would like the 1950 Census record for my Uncle to be from FamilySearch. Same for my Russell cousin and all my FamilySearch "Family Tree" ancestors.

A Source is a Source ... of course, of course ...
It really doesn't matter where a Source is attached from into a FamilySearch profile. Some people like for Sources to only appear from FamilySearch - somehow believing they are superior to some other duplicate collection source - they are not superior (especially if duplicate). FamilySearch attached Sources do contain the FamilySearch logo/tree icon and with the new Person Pages can be sorted.

Search> Images also does not reveal any 1950 Census unindexed sources for Pima County
Sorry I was in error above - this statement is a bit incorrect. The New Search> Images for 1950 US Census Pima County E.D. are mostly indexed - but there are a few showing as still unindexed (maybe uncle/cousin resided in those ED?):
I really am uncertain when this New Search> Images was released - I hadn't noticed it earlier. Maybe it is the reason you couldn't find the uncle/cousin?
Here are the 602 'Martin' Results for 1950 Census Pima County - in New Search> Images:
Here are 115 'Russell' Results from Cochise County:
It is interesting that I got different results above.
Hope that helps.

genthusiast, Thank you! I was going to correct you and provide the link which lists all Pima County AZ enumeration district links for the 1950 Census, but now I'm glad I didn't.

Here is my Uncle Elston C Martin at ancestry.com. I had no problem finding him at ancestry.com and did so on the first try. The "Martin," showing surname only in the FamilySearch Pima County, Arizona search engine takes one to the 404 message showing can't find this person. Is this a bug in the FamilySearch search engine, why does it take you to so many records showing 404 error messages? I could be blind, but I asked the FamilySearch search engine to give me all people in the 1950 Pima County, Arizona Census that are born in Oklahoma. It did not pull up my Uncle. 1950 United States Federal Census - Ancestry.com
I can't seem to find my cousin Robert L Russell in the FamilySearch 1950 Cochise County, Arizona Census. Asked the FamilySearch search engine to give me all Robert L Russell's born between 1929 and 1935 in Arizona, and it did not bring him up. Again, I could be blind but I can't seem to find them in the FamilySearch search engine the way I quickly found them at ancestry.com. 1950 United States Federal Census - Ancestry.com
