FINDING ORIGINAL CHURCH ORDINANCES FOR FAMILY MEMBERS

I am writing a family history. As I look up deceased family members in FamilySearch and check their ordinance tabs, I see that sometimes dates appear that LOOK like they were ordinances performed by the person in life, but often I see dates of ordinance performed LONG after the person died, so I know they aren't original ordinances dates.

How do I find the original ordinances for my deceased ancestors? And, is the "Ordinance Index" still available for members to search?

Thanks for any assistance you can provide.
