Permission to do Ordinances

Hello!

I would like to request permission to perform ordinances for Fairy Wear (my grandmother's best friend), LKS8-24P.

Her close relatives have passed including her only son so I can't get permission from a close relative but I would like to perform her work if possible. I have many wonderful memories of her as a child.

Thank you!

Hi Katie - The current policy for requesting ordinances for a friend is that if your friend has no close living relative that can grant permission, the request can not be granted. This is as stated in the article we provided. Requesting ordinances for someone you are related to is a different matter and a request can be made without close living relatives. In this case, you are related to Fairy Myrle Lewis LKS8-24P, albeit a distant relationship, but that is okay. The proper way to request ordinances for someone you are related to is to do it from family search. Go to the person's page, request the ordinances and fill out the form. Here is an article giving further detail on filling out the form. Once you submit the request, it will be reviewed and you will receive an email either granting permission, asking for additional information, or providing further clarification. Please be advised that the request queue has a backlog so we appreciate your patience. Hope this helps.

Hi Katie Welcome to FamilySearch Community and asking about doing ordinances for a friend. Current policy requires written permission from a close living relative. Here is a link that will help explain in more detail. Thanks. Let us know if you have other questions.

    Hi,

Yes, I'm aware of the policy, the problem is that all close relatives are dead and I want to obtain permission through the church to do the ordinances. Is this not the right place to request that? I have gotten permission before to submit work if all close relatives are deceased, as in this case.
