I want to do work for a close friend

My Friend Nancy Rodgers ( File #GJ7G-8DM) passed away in July or 2022. Nancy and her husband Tom Dering were close friends of mine since the early 1980s. Tom was investigating the church and was about to be baptized when he got sick and passed away. Prior to his death he asked me to do his temple work which I did a few years later. His wife passed away this last year and I would like to do her work. Nancy was an only child and she and Tom had no children. So there is no one to ask permission to do the work or get anything in writing. So I am between a rock and a hard place on this one.

This is a request to allow me to process her name and have her work done in the Chicago Temple.

Can I get approval to do this please?

According to the article, "If your deceased friend has no close living relatives that can provide written permission, then a request cannot be granted."

To add to what Chas Howell has given you, you could add unconnected person to you Family Tree by using the information in the link below.

How do I add an unconnected person to Family Tree? 

The saving ordinances will eventually be done.

@MCBeeler, when you said "Friend" I assumed you meant she is a Non Relative, is that correct? The reason I ask is that the policies are different for someone related even distantly vs a friend and there is a procedure for approval if you can show no "Close Relative" is living. If you are not related maybe your wife is?

To add to JBPurdie's comment, adding her as Unconnected will not help establish your relationship to her, you will have to do some research and get her connected to her parents and grandparents. The system goes back about 15 generations, so there is a possibility you or your wife maybe related.
