Don't Enforce New Person Page
I find the new person page very difficult to use. The font, the multiple columns, lack of boxes around things makes it feel very nebulous.
Why not just keep allowing the the choice to view both ways?

On the right towards the bottom under Tools you should see a gear Icon “My Layout Settings” click that. You can then choose between Double Column or Single Column. Also you will likely have a better chance of having your other views heard by posting in the the New Page Group at

Further to Chas's comment about switching to a single column, Gordon has shown in screenshots that the font is unchanged, and I am failing to see where the old page has boxes that the new one doesn't. In fact, I sometimes find myself checking what it says at the top right to figure out which version I'm using, because they're so similar.

I tried multiple times to correct the incorrect birth and missing death dates for my 2nd great-grandfather on the new person page after consulting the help instructions. It was so straightforward to change once I went back to the old version of the person page. Still haven't figured out how to do it with the new version. So much frustration and wasted time. (Really my first complaint about FamilySearch, which has been a terrific resource otherwise.)

@KristineBradof, that's interesting: from my view, the new "edit" interface slightly re-arranges the parts but is otherwise much the same as the old one. Perhaps you could join the New Person Page group (https://community.familysearch.org/en/group/316-new-person-page) and post a question there, explaining where the new interface failed you?
