I don't recall ever getting this message in the past but over the last several weeks I'm only able to browse records for about 10 minutes or so before this message starts coming up, and then I have to stop for about 10 minutes before the images will load again. It's not related to the amount of traffic at the site because it happens regularly no matter what time of day or night I'm browsing. If I log out and log back in under a different username, I'm able to continue browsing records but after about 10 minutes or so the message comes back. It's not my computer because it doesn't matter which computer I use.

Thank you.

    What record set(s)/URL(s) are you accessing? Others could try to duplicate your experience. If you are accessing record sequentially - from the same collection - it might be that the collection has some throttling rules. From other similar discussions - the recommended solution is to try accessing the collection from Images - apparently the different image viewer is less restrictive.

    I browse birth, death, and marriage records from Italy. Nearly none are indexed so I have to browse through the photographed pages of the record books one by one and look for a particular name. It's always 5 to 10 minutes before it stops loading pages. It's very frustrating to only be able to look for a few minutes and then always have to stop and wait. I could see that happening if the site gets very busy but not all the time.

    Have you tried the image viewer in Images? It would be interesting to know if that resolves the issue for you.

    The problem is the same there. That seemed like just a different way to find the same images. I've always used the list of towns and provinces because I always know which area I want to see records from.

    @Gerard113

    I was hoping you'd have better luck in Images. Can you include the URL of the collection? Someone needs to test whether they have the same problem accessing it. It needs to be isolated - whether the problem is with the server you are connecting to, the collection or your connection/account. My best guess is that it could be a combination of these factors - or perhaps just your account. I wonder if you cleared FamilySearch cookies then restart your computer - if that would help?

    @Gerard113, what you describe appears to be similar to problems reported over the last few months. Unfortunately, it is often not repeatable when our team tries to understand the problem. Although the problem would not be related to the specific search that you are conducting; without it we have nothing to test. So, please let us know the specific collection or film you were searching. Also, please send us a copy of the specific search; search results would be fine (actually, this would satisfy both requests).

    The problem appears to not be affected by clearing cookies. It acts like a problem related to the Cache, but clearing cache at the user side generally doesn't seem to fix the problem either.

    It is interesting that you are also seeing the problem when searching in Images. It had previously been reported that it wasn't showing up there.

    I just started here with Image 1 and when I got to Image 34, I got the message. That's typical of what happens. I can wait a few minutes and it will most likely work or I can log out and log back in with a different name and it will probably work right away without waiting. It happens with any of the areas of Italy I access.

    Also, I don't search because the records I need to see aren't indexed. I go here and choose the area, and then I browse by year and type (birth, death, marr.).

    I've noticed a similar glitch, but not as agressive, so maybe it's not the same issue...

    When I browse images starting with the link from an indexed record (or a "Browse the Film" link from an IGI source) and leave the tab inactive for a while (timeout is probably at least 10 minutes, less than 30 minutes, but I haven't measured it carefully), parts of the current image on the film that I hadn't scrolled to before are blurry and all other images on the film say "photo not found", until I reload the page (that is, [Enter] key in the address bar).

    Seems to happen on Chrome and Firefox both, on Windows and Linux both.

    But I usually don't have to "log in" again.

    I see now that it only lets me look at about 34 records at a time and then I have to wait.

    I started here today, and when I got to image 34 it stopped. I waited until they would load again and it stopped at image 67.

    The engineers made some changes to this. Has anyone in this post had this issue in the last 30 days?
