Policies for Step-children to be sealed to step-parent, and are they considered as immediate family?

I'm having difficulty finding policies in the Church Handbook and the Help Center regarding permission requirements for step-children to perform ordinances:

  1. Does a living step-child need permission from other immediate family members to be sealed to a step-parent?
  2. When requesting permission for ordinances within 110 years, would a step-child count as an immediate family member to give permission?

I have the same question about how that works. I think the church should add that to their handbook as well.
