I am adding this comment here because the heading is "occupation." I don't know if it was a magical fluke or what, but last night, the search feature in FamilySearch allowed me briefly to search for "occupation." I was so excited! Then the feature went away. Oh, my, how wonderful it woukd be to be able to search by putting in little extras we know about the person, such as occuption, immigrant ship name, immigration data, emigration data, siblings, and so forth!

Please make the occupation search permanent. Please also add ship name for immigration!

@MrsLCJ The occupation field shows when you are searching on a specific collection for which that field has been indexed. For example, searching the 1940 US Census, there is a "Keyword" field that can be used for the occupation.

Not all record collections have such a field or have such a field indexed, so the option does not appear in a general search.
