My Uncle was in the Army I believe and was in Austria when he died in 1954. We were always told he died from a brain aneurysm while waiting at a bus stop. How can I find any records? Would he have a Mississippi death certificate or would Austria have issued something?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

He should have a military record of his death. Was he on a military base when he died or a city street?

There is a database, on Ancestry, of US Citizens who died Abroad but I think that is mostly civilian records. https://www.ancestry.com/search/collections/1616/ The military would have handled the burial and transport if he was on active duty.
