I've run into some people who might be my g g grandfathers first family. The problem is out side of having a marriage doc for Maria I only have birth certs.
Elenora Friedt born 1822 pid-MHZR-23Z is the mother of Maria Magdalena Effertz MH8K-9GX,

Franz Effertz MHZR-2S4 and Leonhardt Effertz MHZB-RLM. I don't know what happened to this family, where they died, etc. Can you help me find death docs and maybe why he had two familys?

Thanks

Cathy

Exactly who is supposed to have had two families? Maria's marriage record states that both her parents were present and giving permission when she was married to Heinrich Joseph

Hubert Puellen in Grevenbroich on 27 May 1870. So both were living and still together at that time.

Maria's parents Christian Hubert Effertz and Eleonora Huberta Friedt were married in Kasten, where the civil registration office for Epprath is located, on 24 November 1843.Both were single. He was 20, she 26 years old.

Perhaps this answers your question. If not, please feel free to explain in detail what you need. We will try to help.

Just as an explanation. All the birth, marriage, and death records are kept on the town/parish level, so if the place isn't known, it is not possible to find a record. The civil registration records FamilySearch has only go up o 1875. Due to contract restrictions they are currently only publicly accessible on microfilm at the Family History Library in Salt Lake City. Some of the records have been indexed and the indexed extracted information is available online at FamilySearch. This may be a way to find marriages or deaths for Maria's brothers.
