Getting a GEDCOM into the fixed Genealogies section of the site is one thing but don't even try to go any further.
If you want to add material then load things into a FSFT-compatible program like Rootsmagic and individually sync things across.
Clumsily-performed GEDCOM imports are the source of a huge amount of junk in FSFT. There is more than enough material in there to make mass additions unhelpful.1
what the heck is an FSFT, I want to add to MY tree of My family, what the heck would I be messing up, It's my tree .0

(FSFT) FamilySearch Family Tree is ONE tree we all share.1
However, uploading a GEDCOM to keep your tree protected in case something happens, and then you can go back to it for referral--is not a bad idea.
Here is the link to the Knowledge Article in FamilySearch to upload a GEDCOM. https://www.familysearch.org/en/help/helpcenter/search?q=upload+GEDCOM.
