I have my own family tree started but I want to start a seperate one for my son-in-law, a totally different family. Is there a way to do this? I cannot see that it can be done. Thank you. Richard McFarland

Hi Richard, Welcome to Family Search Community and posting your question about a tree for your son-in-law. There are two possibilities here. First of all, we assume that your son-in-law is showing on your tree as the husband of a daughter. Simply go to his person page, add his parents and work back from there. There is also a provision to add an unconnected person and then start building a tree from there. We don't think that would apply in your case. However, if you ever find the need to do that, click on "recents" at top of most family search person. "Recents" give you a list of recently viewed people. At the bottom of the list is a link to add an unconnected person. The reason we don't think this would apply in your case is because by adding an unconnected person, you would be creating a second record for your son-in-law. Here is a link to more detailed instructions on adding an unconnected person. Hope this helps.
