Hello. I am trying to find a Revolutionary document for my ancestor Robert Walker Jr. He served in the war with the Salisbury District Surry North Carolina Militia. It is reported he was wounded at King's Mountain Battle in 1780. As a reward for his service he was given a Land Grant #584 for land (1800 acres) located in Greene County, TN. on July 10, 1784. I am trying to get a copy of the Land Grant Records. Any help you can give me would be appreciated. Thank You!

@John9777, just a couple of additional suggestions.

You might find some help in the FamilySearch Wiki page, Tennessee Land and Property.

    https://www.familysearch.org/en/wiki/Tennessee_Land_and_Property

With regard to the specific grant 584, I have found that Ancestry.com has a corresponding record in its data base, see: https://www.ancestry.com/search/collections/3658/?name=Robert_Walker&count=50&types=r.

Note that fees are associated with their website.

You might want to review the material, below, that describes the early Tennessee land grants and other land records that would pertain to your Robert Walker Jr.

    https://sos-tn-gov-files.s3.amazonaws.com/forms/EARLY_TENNESSEE_LAND_RECORDS_1773-1922.pdf

You might pay particular attention to the section on John Armstrong Grants, as it appears that the grant for Robert Walker Jr. may have been such a grant.

    I hope this helps.

    Hi Mike:

THANK YOU-THANK YOU-THANK YOU!!! You found what I exactly was looking for. Looks like he did not fight in the war, but, he did render aid to the soldiers and was rewarded with a land grant. Again, thank you for your kindness in helping me out. All The Best--John
