Linking Resources

It would be nice to have the option to enter a personal identification number or the name when linking resources to an individual. Sometimes, especially when linking parents in a marriage record, you know the parents of the child but they do not come up in the choices available. If you would enter their Personal ID, it would cut down on the number of people needing to be merged.

When using Source Linker to attach an indexed record to Family Tree profiles, you can use a profile's ID to choose the attachment target. Just click the "Change" link on the tree side (right-hand column) and put the ID in the Go To box.

There is a similar Go To box when using the "Attach to Family Tree" button on unindexed images, and one of the options for attaching a citation from your Source Box is "By ID". In other words, as far as I can tell, this capability already exists. If you're talking about something else, you'll need to clarify.
