I got a message like that the other day but when I tried again I was able to view the record.... I’m glad you brought this up because I’m noticing some of the census images we could see before (I think) aren’t available anymore. Anyone know why? I think it was 1920 and1930

On my end, I cannot see any 1860 or 1870 censuses. They're just blank and when I try to open them, I get a technical difficulties message.

@janeostrander1 janeostrander1 We are having major issues with ability to view census images. The issues are being reported to engineering as we learn of them. We have 1860 and 1870 well documented. When you have issues with any of the other census records not returning search results or not letting you see the images, please contact Support so we can get this documented and up to engineering. Click Help in the top right of FamilySearch.org and then Contact Us. You can use email, live chat, or phone. We have a large backlog of email cases for these record search issues, so it might be a few days before you hear back if you email. But be assured that we are confirming the problem and escalating them as quickly as we can. And, of course, hoping our engineers are able to isolate and fix the problem soon. Our apologies for the problems!

Very intelligent, illuminating, and well written answer. It appears you are connected to FS in some way that allows you to post such a detailed answer. So, follow-up question. Why can't FS be proactive and simply post a banner on it's website indicating they are having difficulties with access to viewing census images? That would alleviate considerable user frustration and guessing as to what the reasons behind the loss of access might be.

It isn't just the images - the indexed content is inaccessible as well, and has been for many days for me.
