When I request Sealing I get that the Baptism must be done first I know that but all I aask for was sealings.

The same happens when I ask for ititiatory, although it is all I want it gives me everything else.

Is there a way to correct it?

IF I ask fir sealings to spouse I find that the spouse has not had any ordinances completed

The same if I ask for sealings to parents and the parents are not sealed.

Can all these things be corrected. The filter system does not work for me or others

    Hi @ Keith Russell,

Thank you for posting your question in the FamilySearch Community regarding the performing of ordinances that you wish to have done.

Please see the Knowledge Articles below.

    Correct order of temple ordinances

Vicarious ordinances performed out of sequence are valid, but they become effective only after the prerequisite ordinances are completed.

The FamilySearch Family Tree website enforces the correct order of individual ordinances: baptism, confirmation, initiatory, and endowment.

Here is a blank Family Name Card before selection the ordinances

If just Initiatory is selected the previous ordinances automatically appear.

The Article goes on to explain the preferred order of ordinances.

It is preferred that sealings be done after individual ordinances, but it is not required. Family Tree does not enforce the order of sealings for deceased persons. A deceased couple can be sealed before their individual ordinances are done. Likewise, a deceased child can be sealed to deceased parents before the parents are sealed and before the parents’ individual ordinances are done.

If a sealing ordinance was done out of order, you should simply make sure that the rest of the ordinances get done. You do not need to report the issue to FamilySearch Support. Nor do you need to redo the sealing. The sealing becomes valid after the individual ordinances are done.

Why are the temple ordinance dates out of order in Family Tree?

In Family Tree, a person’s temple ordinances may be out of order for several reasons.

If a sealing ordinance was done out of order, you should simply make sure that the rest of the ordinances get done. You do not need to report the issue to FamilySearch Support. Nor do you need to redo the sealing. The sealing becomes valid after the individual ordinances are done.

    Family name cards

Because sealing-to-spouse ordinances are printed on separate family name cards, temple staff cannot verify that the previous ordinances were done first. The member who reserved the sealing and printed the card is the only person who can ensure that the sealing-to-spouse ordinance is done in the correct order.

As a result, sealing-to-spouse ordinances are often done before the baptism, confirmation, initiatory, and endowment.

    Ordinances Ready

The Ordinances Ready feature allows sealings to be done before the individual ordinances. It is acceptable to perform these sealing-to-spouse ordinances without checking that the individual ordinances have been performed.

I trust that this will clarify the situation regarding the ordinances to be performed and situations that may occur and I am grateful that you are providing the saving ordinances for your ancestors.

    Kind Regards
