Translation birth record
Hi there,
I am hoping that someone can translate a birth record for me. Last entry on this page, https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3Q9M-CSSK-MRH?cat=1346949
Thanks in advance!

Hello,
this seems to be a record from Bessarabia, contemporary Moldova. The problem here is that records are made in Moldavian (or what was it called back then) which is very close to Romanian but uses semi-Cyrillic alphabet.
As a result only a person with good knowledge of Moldavian + specifics of metric records would be able to read that exactly. I can only vaguely understand some names since they are Russian anyway.
Left page has two dates 11th and 14th of Dec, that should be the birth and christening and a name Spiridon
Right page:
column 1) Nikifor Chernivchin, peasant (that's the only Moldavian word I am able to understand, "царан") from? Oroshen?
column 2) Juliana ? ? Stefan ?
column 3) Ilije (maybe a word rather than name?) ? ? Ioan (John, Ivan) Fedoruk ? Katrina ? ? Jakub Mehora peasant from? Oroshen? - these would have to be witnesses
column 4) Theodora Baroschuk?
column 5) N. Dimitrievich - this is probably the priest since it has similar entries for many of the records
If you need something better than that, try asking at
This is a Russian speaking forum, but they definitely can help with Moldavian. Try using google translate to ask your question in Russian it is usually fairly good in making sense. If this doesn't work, please let me know and I'll try to write there for you
thanks,
Igor.
