I think this mark over the 'o' is an abbreviation. NO is not a typical French name. I can post two records showing the mark. Does anyone know what last name they may have been abbreviating?

I would greatly appreciate your help.

If you make a search in geneanet.org, you will find quite a few surnames NO but sometimes there is a "circonflex" accent over the O

You can also search geopatronyme.com and the surname NO exist in France. It is not an abbreviation.
