Re: George McKenzie (1773–1830) • Person • Family Tree • FamilySearch in particular

In the view shown it appears that I had something to do with entering a specific marriage date and place which needless to say I didn't. Nor does the name of the person responsible appear at all.

Perhaps an improvement could be made.

Looking at the change log, it appears that you created George's record in 21 January 2014 and you added his wife and made them a couple of the same day. All I see with your name on it is that couple relationship.

So see who most recently add the marriage date and place, you need to open the editing box for that information or go to the Change Log for the couple information which shows this:

Here you can see that you added just the relationship for them, once as a couple, and twice for being parents of their two sons. Then a few years later another user added the marriage information and edited it. So all this is showing properly.

Here is were it shows the most recent editor of the marriage information in the Couple Event editing pop up:

    In this view:

it only lists you as the contributor of the information, that is the people, in the section above that first divider line. This would be more clear if there was a Details View option for the Events, Facts, Sources, and Notes, but there is not at this time so you have to open any item there to see the last contributor.

Still seems mighty **** to me that the person who actually did the deed is not shown but I am as though I did it.

I trust that Family Search is not involved in politics. LOL.

There have also been 2 merges of duplicate profiles of George McKenzie. Merges can affect the appearance of who entered the information. However, in this case, you also created the now-deleted profiles.

@David Oltmann I'm sorry but I'm either blind or not understanding your concern. Can you point out precisely where you are seeing your name against marriage information you did not put in? Either in a very details description or a screen shot annotated with arrows? I can't see anywhere where your name is on something you did not add.
