try to find family from Poland

Main goal is to find out out more about a family who came from Gründorf , nowadays village Zieleniec, 34 km north of Opole and from Opole itself, then Oppeln.

Family name is Susskind:

Salesman Alexander Süsskind

66 years of age (born around 1836), Jewish Religion

Adress Oppeln, Nikolaistraße 10

born in Gründorf, district Oppeln, this is nowadays Opole, Poland

married with in in Oppeln living Albertine born Bytinsky (Pinne near Posen 1840-1924 Berlin)

He died November 10,1902, buried Opole.

They had at least one son Eugen (10.10.1873 - 10.2.1943)

Son of the late butcher Salomon Süsskind and his late wife Henriette geb. Epstein

both last living in Gründorf

Eugen married Hedwig Susskind, born Stuttgart 20.12.1877, probably they were cousins. She died in 1943 after deporation from Berlin in 34th Osttransport. They had a daughter Marianne Margarete, born 10.5.1904 Stuttgart who was killed at Sobibor 11.6.1943 with daughter Hella Emmi (born 1935), married to Rudolf Rosen who was a survivor

Any and all data, documents etc are welcome especially data on parents of Hedwig Susskind.

Do an internet search on the town name. You can often find historical information on what it used to be called. When you search for your ancestor on the genealogy sites, search under Germany for a location as well as Poland.

Thanks for oyur kind reply but no longer have access to Ancestry, since I use MyHeritage for my tree the costs are high enough

Polish records can be tricky since Poland was under the rule of other countries (Austria/Russia/Germany. I found many links to my own tree in Prussia, Germany records. Use the name of the location (city/region/country during the year of record (e.g., in 1877, what was it called) for the search. I have found many more indexed historical records under Germany than Poland. Also keep in mind, that many records were damaged, destroyed, or misplaced during WWII.

You can search under Opole, Poland; Berlin, Germany, etc.

Have found that site, problem Germany is a large subject, if it concerns Polish towns now but German names then where to look?

For example, I searched for "Grundorf, Poland" and found a link for an Ancestry collection: Eastern Prussian Provinces, Germany [Poland], Selected Civil Vitals, 1874-1945 (in German)

That tells you to try searching in location: Prussia, Germany
