Gender Specific Reservations

Often times I want to reserve an ordinance for a male in my line and I see that a female has reserved the record. This makes the work more complicated for them as they will have to find a male to do the work when I am looking for ordinance work and can do it for the males in my line. It would be nice if the system would limit the proxy work reservation by gender so females could only reserve female work and males could only reserve male work.

I think you would find that the vast majority of these reservations are women reserving ordinances for their husbands and sons to do. I'm sure they do not find this complicated at all and are working diligently to get the work for their relatives completed. My wife reserves all of the ordinances for her family which is the correct procedure since I am not related to her relatives and she and I work together to complete them. We find it particularly fun when she and I can go to an endowment session on the same day with the names of a husband and wife in her family.

On a similar topic, the most frequent complaint in the past about Ordinances Ready is that men could only get male names and women could only get female names. A recent update to Ordinances Ready allows a person to select whether to obtain male or female names.

I am a female grandmother and input names into family search, and make reservations and print the cards of males for my grandsons to do the baptism work, and my husband to do the iniatory, then we have help with my male cousins for the endowments, If I could not reserve for males, this work would not be able to be accomplished, so the suggestion for females to be able to reserve only females is not a good suggestion.
