Microfilms that have not been digitized

Hello,

Although Familysearch announced that its entire microfilm collection is now digitized, I have come across several records that seem to be only available in the microfilm format :

  • Jewish records for Kežmarok, Slovakia (film number 1739453)
  • Jewish records for Nové Zámky, Slovakia (film number 2376169)
  • Jewish records for Bratislava, Slovakia (film number 2442343 and 2442344)

The problem is that, as Familysearch discontinued microfilm distribution, I can't order these microfilms and, since the collection is supposed to be digitized, the microfilm digitization request link doesn't work anymore.

Does anyone know how I could have access to these records?

Thank you in advance for your help.

The film-reel icon now means "not online". The specific records you're looking for are restricted due to Slovakia's 100-year privacy law. (Kézsmárk has births up to 1934, Érsekújvár has deaths up to 1945, and the two films from Pozsony have births and marriages up to 1943.)

If you have a specific image number that you need (yeah, I know, serious chicken-and-egg), then the Family History Library's Lookup Service may be able to help.

    Hello @Jonathanvdw,

Good question. I didn't know that everything was digitized.

Here is a like to the FamilySearch Research Wiki for Slovakia.

    https://www.familysearch.org/en/wiki/Slovakia_Online_Genealogy_Records

Here is a link for Slovakia Church and Synagogue books, 1592-1935. Some films are not indexed. I've had to search for the place, year, name. It's okay if you know those things.

    I hope this is helpful.

    Dear Anitra,

Thank you very much for your reply.

Indeed, Familysearch has digitized its entire collection according to this announcement : https://www.familysearch.org/en/blog/familysearch-microfilm-collection-digitized

Thank you for the link, I had already checked it and the records I am looking for are not in it, since they must first be digitized (and indexed) : the detailed info of these records mention that they are only available on microfilm :(
