Hitler's Record

Can we please have Hitler's record marked as read only? There's nothing else to add to the record. The only recent changes are cranks adding alleged children.

Thanks

There's little or no point in marking that one read-only. The cranks and vandals will just create another profile.

The designation of read-only records appears to be in the remit of FamilySearch administrators and I do not believe user suggestions are taken into consideration. Apart from most (deceased) Church leaders having read-only status, the decision seems to be taken arbitrarily. Some famous people from the "secular world" are read-only, yet others (of equal fame of status) are not. Also, as Julia suggests, even if an individual's record is locked, some users will just create another profile for them. As FamilySearch does not have the resources to have complete oversight of Family Tree, such falsehoods will continue to be added to IDs in the program.

Good points. Thanks for your inputs. I guess vigilance is the only alternative. I check it once a week to clear off the stupid and I find duplicate records just as you both mentioned.
