Family Tree - Adding spouse/family

Hi everyone,

I'm having a problem adding my husband as a spouse and the same from his end (adding me as his spouse). Every time I search for his name or search by his ID number, his record doesn't appear and it only suggests to "Create person". Appreciate your help on this. 😀

@Reychelle Espiritu Quilla Thank you for using community. You cannot search for a living person,because of the data protection act. You would need to just add your husband as your spouse as you added yourself. I hope this has been helpful, please get back to cummunity if we can be of more help.

Elaborating a bit on SL Terry's response: profiles for living people are private to the person who entered them. They're meant to simply be connectors to your deceased relatives, so you don't need to spend any time on them -- just a nickname is plenty, as long as you know who that is.

Yes, this means that you will have a different profile for your spouse than he has for himself, and vice versa. Likewise for your parents/in-laws, if they're still living. This is by design and not a problem. When you get to the people who are no longer living, then you need to make sure both you and your spouse are connecting to the same profiles.
