Marriage date edit problem
Why can't we just edit the marriage data so that the correct/standardized info shows up in the couple box WITHOUT having to delete all the other data already entered. It's so simple to edit births, deaths, etc and have the corrected info show up. But, so annoying and tedious to edit the marriage data.
Thanks

The difference lies in the fact that multiple events can be added to the Couple Relationship area, but only one set of data to the other vitals - births, deaths, etc.
The earliest dated event added to the Couple Relationship area is the one displayed on each of the couple's Person / Details pages. However, more than one event can be regarded as "correct/standardized". The couple might have married, divorced, then remarried, or married in civil and religious ceremonies.
A user might wish to highlight any of these on the Person page - but will have to delete all the other events if it is not the earliest dated in the list. Many users would like to be able to leave all events intact and pick their preferred one for display from a drop-down menu.
So, (multiple) marriage data is not nearly so straightforward to deal with as births/christenings or deaths/burials.

marriage information gets more complicated with multiple dates/places that are documented, for example: engagement, marriage intentions, banns, marriage license, etc.

Allowing for all of those variations in marriage , divorce etc. How can a marriage date of 2003 be allowed when the correct date is 1903. There is a whole batch with this misinformation.
