Global Warming??? Syracuse, Onondaga, New York has moved to Syracuse, Sicily, Italy
So, recently when searching New York, State Death Index, 1880-1956, it appears as if Syracuse, Onondaga, New York is now Syracuse, Sicily, Italy. As an example I searched Eva Mo* - - -place Syracuse...and low and behold the first 20 on page one - I didn't bother exploring further all show up with a death place as "Syracuse, Sicily, Italy" Yes, I realize it is an error but can someone help me get it fixed???

That sounds like another in the very long list of placename standardization issues. The bot used to standardize placenames did not do a very good job.
Unfortunately, the likelihood of correction is slim.
This thread, among many others, will give you an idea: https://community.familysearch.org/en/discussion/comment/476093#Comment_476093

@dar Barber,
Yes, you have found yet another example of an auto-standardization error in our FamilySearch historical records.
The problem can be fixed. I will put this into the queue of related issues for our engineers to review and resolve. Unfortunately, because a of rather large backlog of similar problems, it would be impossible to suggest a date when the problem will be resolved.
You can still attach the source to the record of a family member. Having done so, you can easily modify the title to provide clarity and provide additional notes to discuss and correct the location information.

Yes, I understand, I just want to put the problems out there so that one day, things will get fixed. Can't fix 'em if you don't know 'bout 'em. Thanks!
