It is best to share your batch code to get the best answer. The batch code is a series of letters and numbers in brackets following the project title at the top of your screen. Like [MPLS-T7V]

There are very easy ways to index repeated records using the icons for copying text forward. But, without seeing your image, it is hard to know what you should do!

In some of the Mortgage projects the instructions tell us to list all page numbers with a space in between on one entry if everything else on the entry is the same, but as Melissa stated above we cannot be sure unless we can see your batch using the batch code.

Read the project instructions and field helps carefully.

The instructions for this batch state:

    • When indexing the page reference number, do not index the page number in the top corner of the register. The page reference number was usually indicated in the record and refers to where the grant information can be found. If multiple page reference numbers were recorded, index all numbers with a space between each page reference number.

You will have a problem with how many numbers the field will actually accept. I would enter as many as possible, then make another entry and keep going until I had entered all of the page numbers.

just my idea for one possible solution.

I think my comment disappeared. Forgive me if this is a duplicate.

I read that in the instructions, but I interpreted that to mean if there are two page numbers on the same entry, record them with a space between them. I wondered about it but I didn't think it was saying you could combine multiple entries into one. That would be a lot easier though.

    Here's my current batch: M3BZ-QXD

    https://www.familysearch.org/indexing/batch/2de68cb4-691f-4537-818b-587118d00cb8

The last six lines are dittos with the only thing changed being the page number.

I interpret it that way because it says "if multiple page reference numbers were recorded..." rather than "if an entry is identical to the last except for page number..."

What does everyone else think? Should I be combining these?

    Hi Heather Van Shaar. KatherineWhittaker1

I was not positive about this and as there were no other responses I called the help line and asked.

The instructions were to create separate entries if there were different dates for the transactions. If everything else was the same and only the page number was different we are to only make one entry and separate the page numbers with a space. If the number of pages exceeds 5 we do not need to create additional entries as the researchers will be able to see this when they view the page.

I asked about doing reviews and was instructed to delete the extra entries and include the page numbers on the first entry.

    Hope this helps.

@LarryClark43 Perfect, thank you! I'll start doing that. Thanks for checking into that for us 🙂
