Who assigns moderators to the various Community groups?

I have found responses to be sadly lacking in at least one of the groups of which I am a member, viz. https://community.familysearch.org/en/group/65-familysearch-family-tree. My suggestion has been to wind-up little-used groups, especially - as in this case - where there is a suitable alternative within the main body of Community.

Perhaps a Community administrator would like to examine the activity (or distinct lack of such) in many of the groups and - if they are to be retained - ensure there is a moderator available to pay frequent visits in order to address queries that are currently being left unanswered.

    Paul--

The groups have just been reorganized so that we have one assignment. This should help with that problem. Please get back to me if you do not see improvement. Thank you, PaulaAnn Oh, could you let me know the name of the group?

Thank you for your comment. I have copied it into our internal chat so we can deal with the points you raised.

I have noticed the same as Paul. There seem to be quite a few questions that wait a long time for an answer from a responsible member of staff.

the group area of Community - seems to be all but dead. (though it has great potential if only it was on someone's priority list)

why isnt it the same support team that moderates them as it is the main group?

Yes, I noticed an example just now. The post at https://community.familysearch.org/en/discussion/129911/tracing-wwii-records#latest was added on 26 August and finally addressed yesterday (18 October) by moderator @JBPurdie.

Not quite as serious are two posts at https://community.familysearch.org/en/group/65-familysearch-family-tree. Placed on 30 September and 1 October, respectively, there being no sign of a response I addressed both on 11 October.

In some cases, it would be better for Community members to not post in the Groups section - I have even suggested a number of these groups should be wound-up. However, I am pleased with your news that the response times should now improve.
